Pyrography Class with Mr Kobo 11/7/26

Spend a creative afternoon exploring the art of pyrography — drawing with heat on wood. This relaxed, hands-on workshop is suitable for beginners and those wanting to develop new decorative techniques.

You will begin by learning how to use pyrography tools safely and confidently, experimenting with different mark-making techniques on practice pieces of wood.  Through guided exercises, you’ll explore line, texture, pattern and shading to create expressive surface designs.

Once you feel comfortable with the techniques, you will move on to creating a finished piece of your own. Options may include a wooden sketchbook cover with sketchbook included, a smooth wooden pebble that can become a pendant or tactile keepsake decorated with a meaningful image, a circular wood panel, or another small wooden object ready for decoration.

By the end of the session, you will leave with:

• An understanding of basic pyrography techniques
• Practice samples exploring mark making and texture
• At least one completed decorative wooden piece to take home

All materials and tools will be provided.

The course will be held in the Siop iard workshop (upstairs, no lift access).
