Embroidered Illustrations

9th March 2019

10am - 4pm.

With Jessie Chorley.

Jessie will be visiting North Wales from her own shop in East London. This workshop will explore Jessie’s signature style of hand embroidery combined with her unique approach to applique and patchwork.

Jessie will show you how she uses her needle and thread both as a drawing tool and also to hold in place her chosen fabrics. She will be showing you how to cut simple shapes out of fabrics and applique them to base fabric to create a narrative. This workshop will also explore Jessie’s own style of hand embroidered text and lettering.

You will be provided with a kit from Jessie’s own studio which will include all the materials required for this workshop. In addition, please bring with you on the day the following items: favourite fabric scraps for applique and patchwork, small pieces are perfect, a sharp pair of fabric scissors, favourite sewing/embroidery threads and favourite needles (if you have them).

Jessie will also have her full kit of threads, fabrics and tools with her on the day plus her unique hand stitched sampler books to inspire you all.
